Welcome to the Gunnedah Shire Bands. Please look out for kangaroos, don't wake the koalas, and please try not to inhale the flies.

The band put on a great showing at the 2011 Australian Open held at the Gold Coast on 29/30 October, winning the entertainment section and coming second in the test. Kristy Rowe also won the best soloist in the entertainment section, gaining entry into next years Ern Keller Solo competition, while John Lewis won the best soloist award in the test.
A huge thank you to Jason for all the work he puts into the band. He is a magician. All members too need to be applauded for their determined commitment. Congratulations to all.

Where is Gunnedah?
Gunnedah is a medium-sized town (population 11,000) in the fertile NamoiValley area of North-Western New South Wales, in Australia.
Amiens is a city in France on the Somme River. It is an area of France where the locals pay a special recognition to the contribution made by young Australian soldiers in the Great War, between 1914 and 1918.
In 2007 we recorded a CD in a small theatre in Gunnedah. It was called "Reflections" to remember all of the events that had lead to the rise of the band over the previous years.
